Low Carbohydrate Diets

Do low carbohydrate diets work when it comes to weight loss? While going on a low carb diet can prove to be beneficial short term. If you cut out the wrong kind of carbohydrates long term you could be doing more harm than good. There are many advocates that may say otherwise, but studies have shown that eliminating good carbohydrate foods like a variety of vegetables and fruits can leave your diet lacking in many nutrients and much needed fiber. If a person eats more meat because of the low carbohydrate diet, they can find themselves dealing with a host of health issues related to the gut. Everything from constipation to colon cancer due to the diet lacking in fiber and eating meats that have proven to be carcinogenic, especially when eating red meat that is overcooked or well done.

A better option for most people is to eat a variety of complex and natural simple carbohydrates and cut out the simple carbohydrates from table sugars, sodas, juices, packaged foods and drinks, chips, and any other food that is not grown from the earth!
