Diets and Eating Habits

When it comes to diets and eating habits, the first thing people think is they must give up all the foods they enjoy the most. Well, if you’re a person who lives on sugar, or eats out at fast food restaurants on a daily basis, then yes, you may have to sacrifice some of those things to improve your health and lose weight if that’s one of your goals.

The thing with any diet is that each one will have certain restrictions and guidelines that must be adhered to. This is why most people fail! Most people cannot be consistent when doing something different compared to how they’ve been living for months, years, or even decades.

The longer you’ve been living your current lifestyle, the harder it will be to change it. This is why you must make changes in your diet slowly over time to allow your body time to adjust. If you dive on in, then yes, you can see results, but the problem is you are not likely to stick with it long term.

Once you stop and go back to your old ways of eating, your body will quickly pick up where it left off and you’ll gain more weight than what you lost while you were dieting so to speak. Why? Because the first thing people do is cut calories and what they should be doing is cutting out the bad foods and eating more of the good foods. Most people can actually eat more calories from good foods and still lose weight because your body treats calories from good foods differently than how it does if those same calories were from a doughnut.

Ouch, I stepped on someone! Most people and even professionals will tell you that a calorie is a calorie and it doesn’t matter. All I have to say on this is it’s simply not true and I wrote a book about this over 20 years ago when people thought I was nuts!

After nearly 30 years in the business of helping people lose weight, I have proven time and time again that you can literally eat more of the right foods and your body will use those calories for energy rather than storing them as body fat!
